Experience traditional Irish storytelling from Niall de Búrca, one of the greatest scéalaí of our time.
A scéalaí is the Irish equivalent of a “rhapsode” or a Norwegian “skald” – someone who memorized and performed poetry and stories in front of a live audience. In ancient Celtic times, these well respected storytellers were both entertainers and custodians of cultural history, folklore and myths.
De Búrca is famous for breathing life into this old tradition, captivating audiences in theaters and festivals worldwide with his energetic and charismatic style. Saturday at 10.00, he will host the event “Do you want to hear a story” at Festivalteltet, where he will perform multiple stories in English. Bring the entire family!
