Svetlana Aleksijevitsj will visit the Norwegian Festival of Literature in May 2014. The author was mentioned as one of the candidates for the Nobel prize of Literature 2013, and has gained great international recognition for her documentaric publishments. During her visit in Lillehammer she will, amoungst other things, meet with Åsne Seierstad.
Her first novel, The war’s unwomanly face, will soon be released in a Norwegian translation. The war’s unwomanly face reveales the stories of russian women who participated in the Red Army during the second world war. The book is part of Voices from Big Utopia, a unique atempt to describe the war seen through women’s and children’s eyes.
