Fríða Ísberg (b. 1992) is an Icelandic author based in Reykjavík and has published the short story collection Kláði (Itch) and two poetry collections. Her work has been nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize, The Icelandic Women‘s Literature Prize and won the Icelandic Booksellers Prize for Poetry. Fríða is a member of the Icelandic poetry collective Svikaskáld and she occasionally writes reviews for The TLS. Her short stories have been published in English in US publications. Her debut novel Merking (The Mark) was published by Forlagið in Iceland in 2021 and has won the Icelandic Booksellers‘ Award for Fiction 2021, the Icelandic Women‘s Prize for Fiction 2021, the Optimist Award 2021, the Per Olov Enquist Prize 2022 and had led to Frida being selected as a Shooting Star 2023 in Dagens Nyheter in Sweden. It is being translated into fifteen languages.
