Han Kang

Since her literary debut in 1993, Han Kang has published 10 books, and has become one of the most important prose writer from her home country, South Korea. In her work she draws on firsthand experiences to tackle themes such as grief and trauma. Four of her books, including her most recent The White Room have been translated into English. In 2016, she received the Man Booker Prize, having been shortlisted by such writers as Orham Pamuk and Elena Ferrantes. At the Norwegian Literature Festival, we are really looking forward to welcoming Han Kang, and to seeing her on stage during the festival!
