Judith Schalansky

Judith Schalansky (b. 1980) is a German author and book designer. She studied art history and communication design in Postdam and Berlin. Her publications are characterized by, among other things, an exquisite interplay of typographical and visual qualities. Not only the text, but the entire book as an object must be considered a work of art. Atlas of distant islands and Giraffe's neck are from beginning to end illustrated, designed and typographed by herself.
Both books were named Most Beautiful German Book of the Year by the Buchkunst Foundation in both 2009 and 2012.
Schalansky is one of the authors in the art project The Future Library.
