The American writer Lauren Elkin has been in residence at Maihaugen since May 15th and has been working in the writing room at Bjerkebæk. She was selected by the festival for this extended stay because of her amazing book, Flâneuse: Women Walk the City in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Venice and London, which deals with the female urban wanderer. It is a story that tells us where we are today and how we arrived there, both in a geographic and a feminist sense.
