French Film Matiné – The Intouchables

The Intouchables is an uplifting comedy about friendship, trust and human potential, the true story of two men who should never have met each other. Multi-millionaire Philippe is paralyzed from the neck down after a paraglider accident and must live the rest of his life in a wheelchair. He lives in a luxurious residence in Paris and must hire a new care assistant. The only candidate that stands out from the applicants is Driss, who has applied for the job purely to show that he is an active job seeker, to keep his social security benefits. This is the beginning of an unlikely friendship rooted in honesty and humour between two individuals who on the surface have nothing in common. The film premiered in 2011 and became critically acclaimed worldwide.
