THE BEAST AND THE BETHANY

With comparisons to Roald Dahl Jack Meggitt-Phillips has been highlighted as the most exciting children's book debutant in a long time. Now he is ready to meet his Norwegian readers for the first time to talk about The Beast and the Bethany! Ebenezer Tweezer is a youthful 511-year-old. He has a beast in the attic, which he feeds with all kinds of things (including circus monkeys, his cat and, every now and then, a cactus), in return the beast spits out gifts to Ebenezer along with a brew that stops him from growing any older. But the beast is becoming more and more greedy and soon only the taste of a delicious, juicy child will satisfy him. When Ebenezer meets the orphaned girl Bethany it looks like his (eternal) life will continue. But Bethany is far from a normal orphaned girl… Conversation leader: Heidi Marie Vestrheim
