We meet a trio of authors Lola Shoneyin (Nigeria), Fatemeh Ekhtesari (Iran/Norway) and Yan Ge (China/Ireland) who, in their own way, write stories about the histories and experiences of women, permeated by the specific socio-economic and cultural context of their respective homelands. Is it possible to talk about a universal feminism today? To what extent does it move forward, and to what extent does a feminist conversation nurture or challenge other freedom or minority questions? How can one actually describe women's experiences in literature today?
