Irene Solà (b. 1990) is a Catalan writer and artist. She was educated in literature and visual culture in Barcelona, Reykjavík, and Sussex. Solà achieved her breakthrough with the novel Canto jo i la muntanya balla (When I Sing, Mountains Dance), for which she received the EU Prize for Literature in 2020. I Gave You Eyes and You Looked Toward the Darkness is her third novel. Solà’s books have been translated into more than twenty-five languages.
