Lilly Axster, born in 1963 in Düsseldorf, is an author and theatre maker living and working in Austria. She studied theatre studies and gender studies in Munich and Vienna and works as a freelance writer and director. Since 1996, she has also been part of the team at the Vienna-based SELBSTLAUT centre, which focuses on the prevention of sexualised violence against children and young people. Axster has received numerous literary awards for her work, including plays, novels and picture books.
