Marte Spurkland

Marte Spurkland (b. 1977) is a journalist, presenter, and author. She has worked for NRK, Dagens Næringsliv, and VG, and currently works for TV 2. In 2015, she received the Riksmål Society’s Listener Award for the VG podcast Tett på.

She has previously published Førstedamer: En dannelsesreise i kvinneliv (2005); Skjebnereisen: En norsk-russisk kjærlighetshistorie (2007), and has served as editor for the poetry collections Kjærlighet and Sorg (Humanist Press).

Klassen – fortellinger fra et skoleår (2017) was nominated for the Brage Prize and received outstanding reviews across the Norwegian press. In 2019, she published Pappas runer, a narrative about her father, the runologist Terje Spurkland, his final years, and the joint work undertaken by father and daughter on his last manuscript.
