Øyvind Berg

Øyvind Berg (b. 1959) made his debut with the poetry collection Retninger in 1982. Since then, he has published a wide range of poetry collections, essays, plays, and literary translations. In 2013, he published Stećci. Ikke rot med knoklene mine. Bosniske gravskrifter 1200–1500 together with Dina Abazović. Berg’s debut novel, Roseromanen, was published in 2019 to outstanding reviews. The same year, he received the Gyldendal Prize for his entire body of work. Øyvind Berg has translated works by Bertolt Brecht, Paul Celan, Kenneth Patchen, Ezra Pound, Per Højholt, Heiner Müller, and William Shakespeare.

In the winter of 2026, Berg publishes the poetry collection Smuldre.
