Rolv Olav Eide was educated at the Jazz Department of the Trøndelag Conservatory of Music and has worked as a freelance drummer and percussionist since 1994. He has collaborated with artists, bands, house bands, brass bands, choirs, dance ensembles, big bands, and orchestras throughout Norway, and has also led several hundred seminars with brass bands and big bands. Between 1998 and 2010, he performed more than 1,500 shows with Rubbel & Beat for Rikskonsertene. Some of the artists Rolv Olav has played with include Tord Gustavsen, Henning Sommerro, Frikar Dance Company, Tine Thing Helseth, Odd René Andersen, Leif Ove Andsnes, Stian Carstensen, Jan Gunnar Hoff, Kristin Asbjørnsen, Terje Isungset, Per Arne Glorvigen, and the Hurtigruten ship Polarlys.
