Writing the Self

Karolina Ramqvist and Eduardo Halfon are writers who use the first‑person voice as a gateway into the experiences that continue to shape a life: memories, the body, childhood, and traumas that leave traces on both the person and the text. For Ramqvist, the autobiographical becomes a space in which bodily experience, desire, loss, and history are woven into larger questions of language, power, and identity. Halfon writes a first‑person narrator who moves between childhood events, family history, and the spaces of migration, showing how what once happened continues to inform and transform the narrative.
