MARIANA ENRIQUEZ

Mariana Enriquez (b. 1973) is considered one of Argentina's best and boldest writers of her generation. Born in Buenos Aires, she is a trained journalist and writes for the Argentine newspaper Página/12. Enriquez made her debut as an author in 1994 and has written novels and short stories. Her short story collection Things We Lost in the Fire was published in Norwegian in 2017 to rave reviews.



In addition to her books, Enriquez has had texts published in magazines such as Granta, McSweeneys, and Asymptote. In 2017, she was selected for the Hay Festival's list of the 30 writers and thinkers who will shape the world in the years to come.



The short story collection Las cosas que perdimos en el fuego was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize in 2021.
