ELIZABETH STROUT

Elizabeth Strout (b. 1956) is an American writer and novelist who resides in New York and Maine. She made her debut in 1998 with the novel Amy and Isabelle and has published a total of nine novels. Her major international breakthrough came with Olive Kitteridge (2008), which won the Pulitzer Prize for Best Fiction in 2009. The novel topped The New York Times bestseller list and was later adapted into a critically acclaimed miniseries that won several Emmy Awards.



The first book about Lucy Barton, My Name is Lucy Barton (2016), was nominated for the Booker Prize in 2016, topped The New York Times bestseller list, and received glowing reviews internationally. Lucy Barton later became the main character in the novels Anything is Possible (2017), Oh, William (2021), and Lucy By the Sea (2022).
