KIANA RAHMANI

Kiana Rahmani, born in 2006 in Tehran, Iran, is the resilient daughter of Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi and political activist Taghi Rahmani. Growing up in a family deeply committed to human rights and activism, Kiana and her twin brother, Ali, were inseparable companions. Their childhood took a dramatic turn at the age of 8 when their mother, Narges Mohammadi, was unjustly imprisoned in Tehran, leaving Kiana and Ali to bid a heartbreaking farewell. The constant threat of arrest and the absence of both parents in their lives made it untenable for the young twins to continue living in the stressful atmosphere of Iran. Forced into exile, Kiana and Ali sought refuge in Paris, where they continued their education and advocacy work for their mother's release. Despite the physical distance from Tehran, the siblings remained deeply connected to their roots, actively participating in activism and tirelessly advocating for their mother's freedom. Kiana, at the age of 17, stands as a young activist and spokesperson. Alongside her brother, she had the honor of delivering a powerful speech on behalf of their mother at the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony in Oslo, a testament to their unwavering commitment to justice and human rights. In the face of adversity, Kiana remains a symbol of strength and resilience, carrying the torch for her mother's cause on the global stage.
