KIM THÚY

Kim Thúy (b. 1968 in Saigon), is a Canadian author. She came to Montréal as a boat refugee from Vietnam in 1978. She graduated in with degrees in law and linguistics from the Université de Montréal and has worked as a translator, lawyer, restaurant owner and TV host.

Thúy has received many awards as a writer and been published in a number of countries. Among other things, she received the Governor General's Award in 2010 for her debut novel, Ru.
