LYUBA YAKIMCHUK

Lyuba Yakimchuk is one of Ukraine's most well-known poets. She is also active as a journalist, playwright, and translator. Yakimchuk was born in Luhansk Oblast and grew up with Russian as her first language, but from the beginning of her writing career, she chose to write her poems in Ukrainian. Her first poetry collection, Jak moda (Like Fashion), was published in 2009. Her most renowned poetry collection internationally, Apricots in Donbas, is a poignant testimony to the Russian invasion that started in 2014.
