PETER FRANKOPAN

Peter Frankopan is a professor of global history at Oxford University, where he also heads the Centre for Byzantine Research.
Frankopan's work focuses particularly on the history of the Mediterranean, Russia, the Middle East, Persia, and Central Asia, as well as the relationship between Christianity and Islam. He is also a regular contributor to The New York Times, The Financial Times, and The Guardian, and he has contributed to many TV and radio documentaries.

Frankopan's critically acclaimed work The Silk Roads: A New History of the World was named History Book of the Year by The Daily Telegraph in 2015 and stayed on the Sunday Times Non-Fiction Top 10 list for nine months. The book has also been a bestseller in several other countries. Due to his young age and brilliant career, Peter Frankopan is described as a rockstar historian.
