Fleur Pierets

Fleur Pierets is a writer, filmmaker, and public speaker. Pierets speaks on international stages, tours with a storytelling performance, and is currently working on the documentary Narwal. Her forthcoming novel (April 2026) Als alles goed gaat, is a sweeping story about visibility and the traces we leave behind.
She made her literary debut in 2019 with the bestseller Julian, which was later adapted into a film by Cato Kusters at the production company of Michiel and Lukas Dhont. Since then, she has published three children’s books, the novel Heerlijk monster, and the essay Beton. Her work often explores themes of love, visibility, grief, and legacy.

In 2017, Pierets and her wife Julian launched 22 – The Project, a performance art piece in which the couple set out to marry in every country where same-sex marriage was legal. When they began, same-sex marriage was legal in 22 countries worldwide. Today, that number has grown to 38.
