In this unique performance, we join Tore Renberg on a journey through time. Through his body of work and what he’s learned about the 17th century, he invites the audience to the past – to an era of thirty years of war, authoritarian surveillance, violence, and punishment, but also an era when some have begun to question the society they live in. Does it have to be this way? Is it not possible to think differently? The Age of Enlightenment is imminent, as described in Renberg's acclaimed novel, Lungeflyteprøven (The Lung Float Test). Renberg is joined onstage by Stavanger Barokk, an ensemble that performs with original baroque instruments, inviting the audience to become acquainted with a time that is both foreign – and uncomfortably similar to our own.
